The Lost Glens of Alba
Original Hand-Painted Acrylic on Canvas · 8″ × 12″
Look closely — near the bottom right, on that winding road threading through the ancient forest — two figures walk. Small as punctuation. And yet, they are the whole painting.
The Lost Glens of Alba is a landscape built on scale. Storm-swollen clouds press down from above; jagged mountain peaks barely emerge through the mist; a forest so deep and dark it seems to breathe. A pale ribbon of road cuts through the middle distance toward the mountains, and on it, two solitary figures — dwarfed by everything, yet moving. Going somewhere.
The palette is restrained and deeply felt: forest greens, charcoal slate, bruised greys, and one quiet wash of light where the storm breaks open over the ridge. The gloss varnish deepens every shadow, makes the sky feel wet, the distance feel real. Alba — the ancient Gaelic name for Scotland — carries something elemental and irreducible. This painting holds that weight.
This is not decorative art. It is landscape painting that has something to say. And it is not a print, not a reproduction — it is a singular, hand-painted original, created once, owned once.
